As we wrap up the month of love, what better way to end it than by celebrating our love for Fashion at one of the most glam events of the year, The Fashion High Tea at Zen Garden.

Thank you – Ngomo photographer and Perixel photography for the beautiful pics.

Fashion High Tea is one of the most high profile fashion & style events in Kenya. Its a hub for fashion lovers to interact and party as well as a platform for Kenya’s best fashion houses to showcase their collection.

I must say, this years edition was nothing short of spectacular; the decor was beautiful, and the ambience was bustling. Everyone brought their fashion A-game and hunnaayy I wasn’t left behind.

Lately, I’ve been inspired by trends from the late 70’s and have been experimenting a lot with vintage prints, and accessories. My fro has also influenced my style; nothing screams independent woman like a banging fro.

In my previous posts you’ll read on how I predicted on the 2017 fashion trends and how I wrote about flared arms, two piece suits and graphic prints being very trendy this year, and this made my choice for my outfit super easy as that’s exactly what I decided to go for.

Side note: Big s/o to all the fans of my Afro; will soon put up a post on how you too can have ‘the Bri effect’ on your hair 😛

I chose to incorporate leather for the waist belt and side seam of the pants which is really trending this season as seen on Michael Kors S/S 17 and Dolce and Gabbana at New York fashion week.

I’m rarely a smokey eye kinda girl when it comes to make up but I thought I’d do it for this look so I put on shades of black and green to complement the color of my outfit as I still worked the 70’s vibe

This particular piece is timeless and my personal favorite, only on pre-order, through @YEDUOFFICIAL , custom made just to fit you.
